MISS B Jones (Letters, November 21) appears to tire of frequent prose regarding field sports.
However, several facts of the matter might indeed relieve her apparent fatigue, and allow her to think more clearly on related matters.
Over five million men, women and children participate in country sports in the UK and some 65,000 full-time jobs are associated with country sports.
Coarse, game and sea anglers throughout the UK number nearly four million.
There are 320 registered packs of hounds hunting fox, hare, mink and deer. Some 250,000 people from all walks of life go hunting; there are over 20,000 days of fox-hunting in the Uk every year.
I could indeed go on Miss Jones, but alas I am turning red.
