Bedworth United 2 Accrington Stanley 0

BEDWORTH had most of the play in the first five minutes of this FA Trophy third qualifying round match.

On six minutes Brian Welch received the ball and from the edge of the area sent a looping shot on goal that almost caught Starkie in the Bedworth goal unawares and he just managed to tip the ball over the bar for a corner.

On 17 minutes Welch shot over after a pass from Rawstron. Bedworth were seeing more of the ball, but fortunately for Stanley their final touch was not good. Then on 35 minutes Rawstron headed a Bedworth snap shot off the line. On 37 minutes Thomas shot from 30 yards, but it went harmlessly past the post.

On 45 minutes, after Burns failed to clear, Graham outran Molloy to cleverly chip the ball over the advancing Berryman to make it 1-0 to Bedworth bringing the first half to a close.

With Stanley hitting down the slope in the second half, they did come into the game more, but balls played in against big defenders were not getting them anywhere. On 65 minutes Mills and Greenwood replaced Quick and Walsh in an effort to get something out of the game.

As Stanley pushed more men forward it left them vulnerable at the back and on 78 minutes Graham raced clear and with Berryman coming out to narrow the angle he passed Symonds who placed the ball into the empty net to make it 2-0 to Bedworth and end Stanley's chance of getting anything out of the game.
