INQUISITIVE Fylde folk are being asked to turn detective for game giant Waddingtons.

The task is to help Cluedo bosses at Waddingtons who are attempting to unravel their toughest mystery yet ... where is the family of the world-famous game's inventor?

Cluedo was invented in 1948 by solicitor's clerk Anthony Pratt who made the likes of Revd Green, Miss Scarlet and Colonel Mustard household names.

But Mr Pratt kept a low profile and 50 years after the game launched the careers of a million amateur sleuths, the hunt began to find the man who brought intrigue and suspense to homes all over the world.

The search for Mr Pratt himself recently came to an unfortunate end when it was discovered that he had died two years ago.

Now manufacturers Waddingtons Games are trying to track down the remaining members of Mr Pratt's family and hold a reunion for them to celebrate the worldwide success which Cluedo has become.

A Waddingtons spokesman said:" This Christmas we hope to reach worldwide sales of 150 million and we desperately want to find the most immediate family member of Mr Pratt to honour his great achievement.

"There are quite a lot of Pratts out there and some of them could well be in the Blackpool area."

Cluedo bosses believe Mr Pratt's family is spread out all over the country and would like anybody who can give Waddingtons a clue as to their whereabouts to ring the Cluedo hotline on 0161 273 8871.

Anyone who provides Waddingtons with any useful information in their extraordinary quest will be rewarded with a selection of Cluedo goodies.
