OFFICIALS from the Lancashire Football Association were today investigating the circumstances which led to an Under-14s Youth Cup clash being abandoned.
It is believed that an adult spectator went on to the pitch to confront one of the young players during the game between Blackburn Eagles and Brunlea, yesterday afternoon.
The game, on the Everton playing fields, off Manxman Road, Blackburn, was stopped after 67 minutes with Blackburn Eagles leading the Burnley side by seven goals to one.
Today, LFA discipline officer Jim Parker, said: "Investigations have started immediately because a young child has been involved. We are awaiting the referee's report this morning."
