CRIME figures in Lancashire had more than doubled over the past decade and were still rising rapidly, a report revealed. The grim picture emerged from a disturbing new report produced by Shadow Home Office Minister Barry Sheerman, who said there was a crime crisis across the country.

VILLAGERS were mourning the death of retired publican Jack Burgess, 65, who ran the Eagle and Child in Hurst Green.
