THERE is a note of scaremongering hypocrisy coming from Darwen Labour Party, Mrs Janet Anderson and leader 'Phoney Blair.' The Conservative government will not impose VAT on food as the above people mentioned.
If we join the European currency, VAT will be imposed on food, as part of 'harmonisation,' whichever party is in power.
This would be extended to VAT on books, newspapers, children's clothes and travel.
So Labour's claim is not true and the public do not need feeding with false propaganda.
BILL BIRCH, Vice President Rossendale and Darwen Conservative Association, Rudyard Drive, Spring Vale, Darwen.
