CARL Fogarty has rebounded from a crash on Phillip Island to post the fastest time in today's world superbike testing.
The Blackburn ace was lucky to escape serious injury in a high-speed crash yesterday.
Fogarty, twice world superbikes champion and now re-united with Ducati, was on the final lap on the Australian circuit when the throttle of his Ducati 916 stuck wide open.
He lost control of the bike which careered off the track and was destroyed.
But Fogarty reported only slight damage to his right hand and hip. "He rang this morning and said that he may have cracked a bone in his hand, which he injured before," said his wife, Michaela. "He'll see how it reacts over the next couple of days and may have it X-rayed if it gives him any trouble."
