COMMERCIAL agents and property developers found out how East Lancashire matches up for potential investors.

More than 30 companies were represented when East Lancashire Promotions Partnership staged a presentation at Ewood.

The event 'sold' the area to agents and developers from the North West and London.

"Recent investment into the region's key sites and the opening of the M65 extension this autumn, together with the strength of the manufacturing industry, has made a significant impact on what East Lancashire can offer," said Richard Whittaker, of Catella UK Ltd. Dennis Mendoros, managing director of Kelbrook-based Euravia Engineering and Chairman of the Consortium of Lancashire Aerospace, was guest speaker.

He highlighted the world class companies already based in the area.

A number of significant investments have already been made as the M65 extension nears completion and several major companies have decided to relocate to East Lancashire.

"The upsurge in enquiries across East Lancashire indicates the way in which the M65 extension and the development of the region's key sites is attracting more investors," said Liz Demaison, marketing manager for the Partnership, made up of the six local councils.
