AMBITIOUS plans for a new village hall in Brindle have been unveiled by the parish council.

Architects have drawn up plans for a £190,000 purpose built hall to replace the existing building in Water Street. The 60ft building would include a hall, committee room, bar and catering facilities.

The plans have been been put together by a Clayton-le-Woods architect and commissioned by the trustees of the existing hall. The trustees are all members of Brindle Parish Council. Funding for the work is still under discussion but there could be plans to bid for National Lottery cash.

A meeting is also planned to give villagers a chance to comment on the plans. Anyone wanting a say should write to Joan Croasdale, chairman of the trustees and the parish council, at Grimes Farm, Pippin Street, Brindle, PR6 ND.
