Bolton 2 Chesterfield 3
TEENAGE striker Kevin Davies broke Bolton hearts last night as Chesterfield pulled off one too many FA Cup shocks this season.
The 19-year-old hit man, who recently turned down a £400,000 move to Bristol City, scored a spectacular hat-trick as Wanderers missed out on a plum fifth round home date with Nottingham Forest.
And Bolton boss Colin Todd admitted: "We were very poor and it isn't often that I have had to say that this season. We let our standards fall and paid the price."
Davies fired Second Division Chesterfield ahead on seven minutes only for Scott Taylor to equalise. But two further goals from the youngster midway through the second half left Wanderers out for the count despite a last-gasp consolation from Scott Green.
Davies won a glowing tribute from his manager John Duncan who said: "This lad has got what it takes to go right to the top.".
