WARRIORS U8s took on Eccles in an exciting game. Richard Brown scored two tries and best tackler Jamie MacMillan scored an astounding five. A late try by Eccles took the game to Eccles 32-28. Man of the match was Matt Shepherd.

The close score of Orrell 48 Warriors U9s 31 did not reflect the determined effort of the Leyland team. Man of the match Chris Tuson scored and also added a drop goal, while Ben Balch, James Lloyd and Jamie Glover all scored tries. Philip Campbell did an excellent job in converting, while Daniel Armstrong was voted top tackler.

Warriors U10s were the better side in the first half but trailed 10-0 at half-time. Player of distinction Greg Johnston and top tackler Wayne Standring both scored tries, while Greg Fishwick added the conversions. Eccles replied with two breakaway tries. Graham Birkby deserved man of the match award.

The U11s were at home to Heywood where a depleted team of nine played an exciting attacking game, beating Heywood 56-26. Tries were by Andy Smith (3) and conversion, man of the match Stuart Brown (2) and conversion, Dean Taylor, Graham Kelsall, Adam Wood and top tackler Wes Loram (2) and conversions.

James Franklin and Declan Mallon also converted.

Although outnumbered in the second half, Warriors continued to dominate the game.

Warriors U12s suffered another narrow defeat against St Cuthbert Crusaders, the final score being St Cuthberts 26 Warriors 16.

Warriors ran well with the ball and tackled with determination.

Tries by Lee Beattie, James Cowburn and best tackler John Cookson.

Jonathan Edwards was voted man of the match.

The U13s played away to St Helens Pilkington Recs showing a continued improvement and being able to compete in all areas of the game.

Warriors' attack was outstanding including hard running by both props.

Defence was generally good but occasionally lost its discipline and Pilkingtons made that pay.

Tries were by man of the match Paul Cowling, Matt Bennett, Paul Brown, William Fell and Daniel Woods. Top tackler was awarded to Gary Watts.
