LIBERAL Democrats out to woo election voters will name their chosen one on Valentine's Day.
The odds are on having an established local name, one of their leading Pendle councillors, as the candidate for the Pendle seat.
Activists are angry at what they say is the Labour Party's rush to the right, and they describe Conservative candidate John Midgley as 'an obvious makeweight'.
Constituency acting chairman Alan Davies said his party had not previously announced who might be standing for parliament because they did not want pointless national political argument dragged into council meetings.
He said: "It seems there are now two Tory Parties in this country. We are determined to provide a genuine and effective alternative."
Three members of the Liberal group on Pendle council have previously contested parliamentary elections.
Mr Davies claimed: "The Tories have collapsed in Pendle and their outsider candidate is an obvious makeweight, doing his duty before trying for a better seat next time."
