BURNLEY could bring troubled Kurt Nogan back in from the cold against York City at Turf Moor.
The transfer-listed striker looks set to lead Burnley's attack alongside goalscoring partner Paul Barnes at the weekend.
While transfer speculation surrounds Nogan, he appears to be in Adrian Heath's plans after returning from a two-day trial with Heart of Midlothian and scoring in last night's 3-2 Pontins League victory at Stockport County.
Heath was due to speak with the Edinburgh club today over the future of Nogan who was watched by Tynecastle boss Jim Jefferies last night. There was speculation also that the Scottish Premier League side could be set to make a formal bid for the unsettled Clarets striker.
Clarets manager Heath confirmed: "I will speaking with Hearts in the near future.
"The ball is very much in their court. They haven't made a concrete bid but I'm conscious of their interest. It is up to them. Kurt is available to us, therefore he is in the squad for the weekend."
Jefferies confirmed: "Last night was a difficult game to judge him on but I knew that before I went.
"We've not made a decision. It depends on what Burnley are looking for and whether we can do business with the sort of fee they would be asking." Nogan missed the 1-1 draw at Crewe and the midweek Auto Windscreens Shield defeat to Stockport County.
Meanwhile, Heath is trying to add a fresh face to his Turf Moor squad for Saturday's important Second Division clash against York.
The Clarets boss has spent the last 24 hours trying to set up up a loan deal and added: "We need a fresh face in the squad and I'm exploring a number of options.
"We've worked really hard this week trying to bring people in and there are one or two hopeful signs today."
Heath is almost certain to have leading goalscorer Paul Barnes back for the weekend.
Barnes missed the midweek Auto Windscreens Shield defeat to Stockport County with a knee injury, but he should spearhead the Clarets attack after making good progress from the injury in the last couple of days. Utility man Gerry Harrison and winger Glen Little are both back in training and they should be available to feature against York.
Burnley Reserves scored an excellent win at Stockport County with Colin Carr-Lawton, who made his first team debut the night before, scoring twice while Kurt Nogan netted from the penalty spot. See match report page 30.
SKY Sports 3 will film the Colne Clarets Supporters Club on their journey to Bournemouth for Burnley's fixture at Dean Court on February 15. The feature will be transmitted as part of Sky's Nationwide round-up the following week.
Spokesman Tony Bannister said: "We are delighted and it is super publicity for Burnley."
