A YOUNG peoples forum is being set-up in Lowton and Golborne.
Youngsters aged between 14-21 who live in the locality are invited to a training course to help run the forum themselves. The course is totally free and will consist of seven Wednesday evenings and two weekends, one of which will be a residential.
And it has the added advantage of leading to an accredited qualification.
Youth worker Julie Hilling said: "Young people should have a say in what's provided for them across the whole range of council services and the role of the young peoples forums in the borough's corporate services will be listened to."
The course starts on Wednesday, February 12 at 7.30pm in Lowton St Luke's boys' brigade HQ, in the grounds of St Luke's primary school, Lowton Road.
Julie added: "We need young people from all different walks of life to come forward for the forum to work.
"For those that complain that there is nothing to do or that adults never listen to them, this is an opportunity not to be missed."
