MRS Emily Lomas will receive an extra-special treat to celebrate her 100th birthday when she meets St Helens North MP John Evans.
Life-long Labour supporter Emily, of Newton-le-Willows, is believed to be John's oldest follower, having voted for him every time since his election to the House of Commons 23 years ago.
And to add to her century celebrations, the MP will be making a special presentation of a local newspaper from the day of her birth, January 12, 1897.
Tomorrow (Friday, February 7) Mrs Lomas will be collected in the Mayoral car and taken to the Mayor's Parlour in St Helens Town Hall for tea and cake where John Evans will make the presentation.
A local community activist, Mrs Lomas still supports local charities and schools and is a strong supporter of Penkford Special School, Newton-le-Willows.
Mr Evans, who also presented her with chocolates on her actual birthday, commented: "I was delighted to be able to congratulate Mrs Lomas on her 100th birthday. The framed newspaper also commemorates her magnificent achievement.
"I certainly do not get many opportunities to visit constituents over 100 and it is nice to meet such a charming lady who, despite her age, is in high spirits and good health. I wish Mrs Lomas and her family all the very best for the future."
