A CHARITY that brings terminally ill children from Chernobyl for holidays in England is appealing for help.
The Chernobyl Children Lifeline charity sent out the appeal after a Granada television programme this week featuring the plight of one Chernobyl's young victims.
The charity, based in Burnley, desperately needs cash to pay for a group of youngsters to travel to England for a month-long visit, which will include trips and activities.
They are also desperate for host families to care for the children during their stay.
Charity member Jean Lee, said: "These children are terminally ill and from very deprived areas. Specialists reckon that the visit puts two years on their lives. They also go back with items of food, clothing and general supplies. We need support in any way possible."
Anyone who can help with donations, fund-raising ideas, supplies or as host families should call Benita Edmondson on 01282 451517.
