MANY letters have been written about the monarchy, but it is obvious that if the Royals are to remain in power then the whole system will have to be based on the Norwegian monarchy. To my mind the Royals are insignificant when compared with real people like Mother Teresa - and many others - who by example and sacrifice give encouragement and hope to those who need it most.
My New Year wish is for the abolition of the House of Lords, to be replaced by a House of Correction, consisting of men and women who have proved themselves in all fields, be it commerce, industry or finance. Every month or so the House would issue a report to the people of their country, which would put an end to political propaganda.
After years of Tory rule, I believe that if we had this setup our country would not be in the sorry state it is in at present.
