BLACKBURN Rovers fans were on their way to Wembley for the first time in 27 years. The team secured a place in the final of the Full Members Cup after beating Ipswich 3-0 at Ewood Park.
It was estimated that at least 20,000 fans would make the trek south to see their team play Charlton Athletic. The team's previous Wembley appearance had been against Wolves in the 1960 FA Cup Final.
