A MANAGING director was astounded when a Finnish woman applied for a post at his Darwen firm after spotting the job advertisement while reading the Lancashire Evening Telegraph on the Internet!
James Weisters was dumbfounded when he received the international phone call from the student inquiring about the vacancy at D.H.J Weisters at Anchor Mill, Moss Fold Road, advertised two weeks ago.
He said: "She told me she had been reading the Lancashire Evening Telegraph in Finland and as she was leafing through the ads she spotted the job." Mr Weisters added: "I thought it was amazing someone in Finland could read our local paper and then apply for a job in Lancashire. The whole thing is incomprehensible."
Sadly, the post was already taken, but Mr Weisters told the woman to contact the firm again after she has completed her craft course at a college in Finland.
