DUE to popular demand, it's going to be even bigger and better than planned.

Hordes of you wanted to book stalls at the World of Coronation Street's big street market in aid of Derian House Children's Hospice at Chorley, but unfortunately all the spaces were booked up.

Well now, the seafront attraction has announced a second date, Sunday, April 27, exactly one week after the first market.

The first event sold out in just three days in January and even then there was a long, long waiting list.

If you missed out first time, then dust off your old bric-a-brac and clear out your attics because there may be space for you to hire a stall and sell your unwanted goods.

You'll also be raising much-needed funds for Derian - the £10 stall booking fee and 20p admission charge goes straight to the hospice.

The event is being organised by the South Fylde Support Group for Derian Hospice, which helps raise funds for the charity locally.

The group stretches from Kirkham all the way to St Annes and organises a variety of events every year.

Angela Naylor, a member of the support group, said: "We meet once a month to discuss ideas and plans we may have. We hope to raise between £15,000-£20,000 a year.

"We have a champagne ball at the Grand Hotel every October and in June we do a bike ride, both of which are very popular.

"Apart from the different events we also receive donations and get a lot of help from businesses in the community like the County pub in Lytham which holds a raffle every Sunday."

And, of course, the support group has organised the World of Coronation Street Market.

The first market takes place on Sunday April 20 at the South Prom attraction. Doors open at 9am.

Anyone wishing to hire a stall for the second week (Sunday April 27) should contact Lesley Greenslade, chairwoman of the South Fylde Support Group, on 737289.
