Rovers 1 Nottm Forest 1 "IT was just like the Alamo" was the way relieved Nottingham Forest general manager Dave Bassett described Rovers' second half onslaught.

Kevin Gallacher grabbed the goal that cancelled out Alf Inge Haaland's 18th minute strike but despite the second half siege on Forest's goal, Rovers couldn't find the winner.

In a dour first half, the visitors grabbed the lead with £4.5m new Dutch boy Pierre Van Hooijdonk playing a instrumental part in the build-up before Haaland slid in bravely to open the scoring.

Rovers pressed for the equaliser with Gallacher and Per Pedersen both going close but it was worth waiting for when Gallacher scored with a spectacular overhead kick after Tim Sherwood hit the cross bar.
