I REFER to the Wainhomes spokesperson's comment in last week's Journal, about the vandalism to their site office on the Wesley Guild.
He passed off the incident as "children being children", neatly skirting round the issue of how controversial the proposed development of this land is.
If Mr Wainhomes thinks children should be allowed to be children, then why build on the only safe green recreational oasis remaining to them in the area, and force them to cross the busy St Helens Road to reach Pennington Park?
The newly erected garish blue sign proclaims "Wainhomes - Building Britain's Heritage". No Mr Wainhomes, surely this sign should more truthfully declare, "Destroying Britain's Heritage".
