SO Don Walker, Chairman, Lightshaw Labour Party, thinks our present MP Lawrence Cunliffe has served us well! (Mailbox, March 6)

What evidence does he produce to support this - and if so, why did his party recently try to deselect him?

The rest of us in the real world would disagree with Mr Walker, we've only seen disinterest, inaction and an arrogant disregard for his constituents' best interests.

Where also do Mr Walker (and Mr Cunliffe) stand with 'New' Labour's stance on 'something old, something new, everything borrowed, everything blue'! Attempting to clone themselves as Conservatives while maintaining they're still socialists.

If we want Conservative policies (including Europe's strongest economy) we'll vote for the real thing, with Ed Young, someone who will serve us well.
