TONY Greenwood believes his side is still ahead of schedule - even if Accrington Stanley end up without a trophy in the cabinet this season.

Stanley are already in the final of the LFA ATS Trophy and play Gainsborough over two legs in the semi-final of the Unibond Challenge League Cup.

But if the Crown Ground side come away empty handed, Greenwood still believes he is well on his way to shaping a championship-chasing side.

He said: "I missed pre-season training here and that is when your most important work is done. We are currently in mid-table, in one cup final and on the verge of another. But if we don't win a trophy I know we are the way to becoming a good side." On Saturday, Stanley look to improve their Unibond Premier League position when they entertain Boston.

GREAT Harwood put the best Unibond League Division One defensive record on the line on Saturday when they travel to leaders Radcliffe Borough.

The Showground outfit have conceded just 22 goals in 28 league games keeping 15 clean sheets into the process. Such a record has put the club on the verge of the best finishing position in their history.

Manager Martin Eatough said: "Our success is down to the fact the we defend from the front. Mind you, we have had trouble scoring at the opposite end."

John Whittaker misses the trip due to suspension but Paul Brown and Russell Proctor are back after serving two match bans.

DARWEN manager Ian McGarry is urging his players to get their shooting boots on and grab the goals to save them from the drop.

Despite losing just twice in the last 10 games, McGarry's men have drawn too many games which has kept them close to the North West Counties League Division One basement.

On Saturday Nantwich visit the Anchor Ground.
