A QUARTET of Tyldesley SC water polo players have been selected for the England Junior Squad.
Paul Cowburn, Michael Cowburn, Philip Stout and Jonathan Stafford travel to Bath this weekend to train with the squad.
They will be preparing for the Home Nations Tournament at Ponds Forge on March 21/22.
The four were among 10 Tyldesley players selected to represent Northern Counties at an Inter-District Tournament at Ponds Forge in Sheffield.
Also in the squad: Robert Bond, Andrew Grime, Gregg Stott, Stuart Heys, Matthew Cutt and Andrew Rigby.
Tyldesley U18s beat Kings School, Grantham, 10-5 - a stylish show against a team who have dominated the competition in recent times.
On target: Michael Cowburn 3, Paul Cowburn 2, Stout 2, Cutt 2 and Rigby. Also in the team: Simon Thomason, Heys, Martin Barrett, Stafford, Bond, Grime and Adam Summers.
Tyldesley U16s lost 7-6 to Stretford. Goals from Grime 2, Michael Cowburn 2, Cutt and Bond 2. Also in the team: Simon Clare, Dominic Derbyshire, Oliver Urpi, Alex Foster, Andrew Hurst, Ryan Heywood, Richard Harrison and Justin Heaton.
