POLICE are hunting a pervert - with 'screwed up eyes' who tried to entice a 10 year-old boy into his car by offering him money.

The incident took place as the youngster was walking home from school at about 3.30pm on Wednesday, March 5. He was about to cross Timor Avenue in Thatto Heath when a dark-blue, P-reg car drove up. The car stopped and the driver offered the child £2 to get in.

When he refused and the man said something that sounded like "peace, man," before driving off towards Camberley Avenue.

The youngster, who was left badly shaken by the incident, later described the man as black, in his 20s and heavily built with short, curly black hair and 'screwed-up' eyes.

ANYONE who may have witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to contact the Crime Management Unit at St Helens police station on 0151 777 6053 or ring the Crimestoppers hot-line on 0800 555 111.
