POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a teenage girl claimed she was sexually assaulted on Bosworth Field over the weekend.

The 14-year old girl was walking home at about 10pm on Saturday, March 8 when she was grabbed from behind by a man who pinned her down, sexually assaulted her and then ran off, leaving the terrified girl extremely shocked and shaken.

This followed an earlier incident on nearby Ashurst Drive at 7.30pm when a man grabbed a 13-year old girl's arm as she walked along. The man, whom she described as tall and about 40 years of age, tried to pull her towards him but she kicked him and managed to get away.
