FOUR Thornton family members are performing together in a special concert in memory of a beloved relative.
Brass 'n' Swing will see the Thornton Cleveleys Band and Sixteen Men Swinging raise the roof of Fleetwood's Marine Hall in aid of Trinity Hospice and Christies Hospital.
The event is dedicated to the late Laura Midgley whose son Howard is secretary of Thornton Cleveleys Band and husband Brian is secretary of Sixteen Men Swinging.
Daughter Denise is also involved as treasurer of Thornton Cleveleys Brass Band and her daughter Nicola will be playing the horn.
Howard said: "My mother Laura, who died just before Christmas, was a big supporter of both bands."
The night will be attended by the three deputy mayors of Blackpool, Wyre and Flyde as well as representatives from Trinity and Christies.
Each band will play for one half of the concert, combining the Big Band style with the sound of swing.
Brass 'n' Swing takes place on Friday, April 18, at the Fleetwood Marine Hall from 7.30pm.
Tickets are £3, £2 for children and are available on the door or from a member of the Midgley family. Ring Howard (823370) or Brian (855909) for more details.
