A MORECAMBE granny has struck it rich on the lottery - only a matter of days after a Lancaster couple did exactly the same.

Lucky Marion Currey scooped £34,900 on Saturday night's draw after matching up five numbers plus the bonus ball. Marion, 66, was playing bingo when the good news broke.

She said: "When he winning numbers flash up on the screens, there's always someone who has won a tenner. I won £4,400 on the bingo once, but I never thought it would be me."

Marion, a retired auxiliary nurse, and her husband Douglas, are to treat their family to a share of the winnings. But before splashing out they are going to let the dust settle for a while.

Only last week, Lancaster couple Judith and Gary Parkinson won £23, 493 on the lottery.
