AN INITIATIVE designed to encourage more people to pass on information about crimes to police has been launched in the Bank Top area of Blackburn.
Bank Top Employers Forum is asking businesses in the area to display Crimestoppers posters in their premises and distribute information cards in wage packets.
The aim is to create greater awareness of the Crimestoppers freephone scheme which allows the public to speak to police without fear of repercussions.
Peter Robinson, chief executive of the Blackburn Partnership, said: "The ultimate aim of the initiative is to help clear up crime and make Bank Top a better place to live, work and play."
