WE were convinced we could control nuclear energy until Three Mile Island, Chernobyl, the stockpiling of nuclear waste and various other undisclosed accidents.
So, will the story of genetic engineering, as it unfolds, be for the benefit of human kind as nuclear energy was said to be?
Or will it be, once more, part of our destiny of learning the hard way?
