IWAS quite horrified to read the quote (LET, March 28) from Holden Homes regarding to the proposed development in Billington of 57 houses.
No mention was made of the proposed access to the development which, if allowed, would create a potential death trap. This has already been given the thumbs-down by the police, the parish council, Ribble Valley Council and more than 1,200 of the 1,300 residents of Billington.
Not to mention the chairman of the planning committee who has described it as a dreadful junction.
Four years ago, a government inspector approved the access, subject to certain conditions, which Holden Homes are seeking to have changed to suit their own interests.
Since his inquiry, traffic has increased through the village by at least 25 per cent.
For Holden Homes to say that this will help the village is a nonsense, no matter who foots the bill.
