COPS from the streets of San Francisco pounded the beat in England to track down vehicles to help in their fight against gun crime.
And they found just what they were looking for in the Humber Pig and Shoreland armoured personnel carriers owned by property developer Brian Boys.
Mr Boys, managing director of building and development company B & E Boys, Waterfoot, owns about 30 different vehicles.
They include a Chieftain tank and an American fire engine.
His son Peter said: "The police tested the vehicles with a 50mm bullet and that could not pierce the body work, so they agreed to buy them.
"The police went all over England trying to track down 10 vehicles to export to San Francisco where they have a serious problem with shoot-outs."
