THE Bury Times is on the move . . . but it is not going far.
The Bury Times Group, which has been publishing weekly newspapers in the town for 142 years, is to leave its Market Street headquarters and is looking to relocate into modern office accommodation in the town centre.
The newspaper group, founded in 1855 and now part of the Newsquest Media Group (which includes the Lancashire Evening Telegraph and Bolton Evening News) is responding positively to the technological requirements of a modern publishing industry.
The company is confident that the move will further enhance the quality of service to advertisers and readers of the group's five newspapers, the Bury Times (Tuesday and Friday editions), the Radcliffe Times, the Prestwich & Whitefield Guide, and the Journal.
A date for the move has not been set, but the group's present headquarters - their 'home' since 1971 - is up for sale.
