TWO armed 'teeny terrors' who tried to rob lone women in a park are being hunted by police.
The young thugs carrying a knife and a metal bar were sent packing on each occasion by two women walking their dogs in Drinkwater Park, Prestwich, near to a graveyard.
The boys, aged between 13 and 16, struck twice within 40 minutes.
The youths first struck at 7am on Tuesday, April 1, when a 70-year-old woman was walking her dog. She was approached by the teenagers who demanded cash.
She refused and the pair ran away after apparently being frightened off by her pet dog.
Around 40 minutes later, the same boys confronted a 47-year-old woman who was also exercising her dog in the park. Police say they again demanded cash. But when one of the youngsters brandished a metal bar near the woman's head, she bravely struck out and clobbered him before both made off.
One of the youths, who carried a knife, wore a black, three quarter length coat with a distinctive red 'V' sign on the back - possibly a "Nike" logo. He also wore a balaclava and dark clothing and was 5ft 3ins tall and of slim build.
His accomplice is described as being smaller in height and wearing a dark woolly hat, scarf and dark bomber jacket.
Det Sgt Mick Baker of Bury police said: "Anyone else who was walking their dog in Drinkwater Park that morning and who may have been approached by these two or who saw anything suspicious should come forward.
"These were particularly nasty incidents involving two teenagers who were armed with what appeared to be a knife and a metal bar."
