A WOMAN was attacked by two men as she walked across open space towards a friend's house late at night.
The woman, aged 25, had been out with friends in Burnley town centre when she took a taxi to Metcalfe Street, Rosegrove, and walked across open space towards a friend's house on Leaver Street, at 11pm on Saturday.
As she was walking she was grabbed round the mouth by a man and dragged down to the ground.
A second man then started uttering obscenities and trying to pull her clothes and her underclothes.
Detective Sergeant Graham Briggs said: "She put up a struggle while still clutching on to her handbag and eventually they ran off laughing.
"It was a frightening experience for her and there are a lot of houses round there so someone must have seen or heard something."
The attacker who pulled at her clothing was white, in his early 20s, with thick very blond hair in a mushroom style brushed forward on his forehead. He had large eyes and a large mouth with prominent teeth and clean shaven. He was wearing a navy long sleeved top with a small collar and buttons at the neck.
