COMPANIES are urged to go green in their quest for profit.
A new scheme is being launched to hammer home the message that good environmental practice equals sound business sense.
Environet 2,000, which has received EC funding of £5.4 million, will be launched at a free breakfast seminar at the Groundwork Environment Centre, Blackburn, next Monday.
East Lancashire companies selected to take part will be eligible for £5,000 towards the cost of setting up and implementing an environmental strategy from the Groundwork Business Team.
There will also be expert help from North West Water, Norweb and the Government's Environmental Technology Best Practice Programme.
To qualify, firms must have between 50 and 500 employees and be located in Greater Manchester, Lancashire or Cheshire.
