A NURSERY school has been given top marks following a visit by inspectors.
Kelsall Avenue Nursery School, Blackburn, was said to provide good opportunities for its pupils with a rich and varied curriculum.
Inspectors from the Office for Standards in Education said good quality teaching and thorough planning ensured a positive effect on learning.
The Ofsted report said headteacher Marjorie Taylor provided good leadership and the staff worked well together. It added: "The dedicated and hard working staff provide children with a good start to their education and enable the school to achieve its aims."
Chairman of governors Margaret Miller said: "We are delighted with our report which highlights so much of the work at the school.
"We will continue to build on our strengths to ensure our already high standards are maintained and continue to provide a good quality of education.
She added: "The inspector highlighted outdoor education, governor involvement in monitoring and annual reports as areas which can be improved further.
"These recommendations will be implemented as soon as possible, to maintain our high standards."
