Helen is new Labour choice

Your tenner's save with me!

LABOUR'S Lawrence Cunliffe has asked Tory opponent Ed Young for views on the Conservatives' manifesto.

Mr Cunliffe, is Labour's candidate for the Leigh constituency in next month's General Election. Since 1979 he has been Labour's MP for Leigh.

Now he is asking Tory candidate for Leigh, Ed Young, for answers to six questions he has posed following publication of the Conservative manifesto.

He asks Mr Young:

"Do you support the extremist measures of abolishing the state pension and privatising the post office?

"Are you in favour of abolition of Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax favouring a very few people at a cost of £3.4 billion to many taxpayers? If so, how would you pay for these measures?

"Will you confirm the manifesto's so-called big idea on tax changes for families will benefit only one family in six?

"Do you believe all local authority homes - including all homes in your constituency - should be privatised?

"Do you agree with the manifesto that 'it is in our national interest to keep out options open to take a decision on a single currency when all the facts are before us'? Will you use these words in your own manifesto? If not, what will you be saying?

"Did you endorse the 1992 Conservative manifesto with its 92 lies? If so, why should the public believe you on this one?" Next news story
