WHAT seven young members of the Cartmell family really, really want is to be as famous as the Spice Girls.
And with seven talented singers in the one family, we're sure their debut show will turn the wannabes into true stars.
The youngsters are the seven oldest children in the Cartmell family of St Annes, with baby Axel and toddler Siobahn waiting in the wings until they too are old enough to join their brothers and sisters on stage.
The costumes are ready and children are energetically rehearsing some of their favourite songs to be performed in April Showers on April 26 in aid of Church Road Methodists.
All seven children, who are big Citizen fans and go on delivery rounds with their mum, agreed they can't wait to dazzle audiences with their special renditions - plus a few surprises!
Niall, five, and Ryan, six, will be dressing up as the Spice Girls on the big day to perform the number one hit Wannabe.
Not to be outdone are Stacie, 11, and Stephanie, 10, who will play Annie's Song on the flute and recorder.
The children's favourite part of the show is the Sounds from Oliver when they get to act out their favourite parts from the film.
Animal lover Ryan enjoys dressing up as a sheep in the Animal Song and Mum even gets her chance, singing the Watership Down classic Bright Eyes with daughter Stephanie.
Rehearsals take place at every opportunity, even around the dinner table.
Bernadette, voted best singer in the family, said: "We all get on during rehearsals, but sometimes it can be a bit iffy when we argue about who moves where in the dances."
The Cartmell family told the Citizen tickets for the show are selling fast, so you'll have to be quick to get hold of yours.
You can get tickets from the Cartmells on (01253) 711584 or from Church Road Methodist, priced at only £1 including a hotpot supper.
