AFTER major refurbishments, two of Bass brewery's most popular Fylde pubs have now re-opened.
The Gardeners Arms at Thornton and The Bull in Poulton have both had a face-lift.
To fit in with the image of a pub being a home from home, the two now offer a homely, traditional interior which promises to be welcoming to everyone, including families.
Restructuring, decorating and shaping the pubs took five weeks and the first thing to be noticed will be the outsides, which have been tidied to give a simple look uncluttered by brewery signs.
The new-style pubs allow people to sample the many new guest ales in comfortable surroundings with features such as open log fires.
Walls around the The Bull's bar have been knocked down to give a friendly open-plan atmosphere.
The Gardeners Arms has been completely redecorated, the bar has been reshaped and the kitchen extended, giving more room for a new-style games room with a children's play area.
New menus provide a greater selection of food suitable for any occasion, with a children's menu also on offer.
The Bull's own extensive menu offers light food for the many shoppers attracted to the Poulton centre as well as larger lunches for people with more of an appetite.
Both pubs are now open after successful opening nights with Radio Wave and charity raffles for the MRI Scanner Appeal at Victoria Hospital.
