TYRE manufacturer Michelin has won a prestigious safety award because of its low accident rate.
The Burnley-based factory, which manufacturers lorry and bus tyres, is one of only 1,000 in the country to win an award in the British Safety Council competition.
The company had to show a low accident rate, good safety policies and a commitment to health and safety.
Michelin representatives will travel to a banquet in London on May 16 when comedian Frank Carson will entertain 1,300 guests.
