UGLY scenes marred the end of Atherton LR's UniBond Division One clash with Droylsden.
It followed a dramatic 3-3 draw - Rovers snatching a point with a last-minute penalty.
A Droylsden defender handled and the referee pointed to the spot.
But a player required treatment and there was a confrontation between the visitors' physio/substitute Mark Molyneux and the referee. Mark Stewart slammed home the penalty which may not be enough to stave off relegation.
Then, as the players were leaving the field, Droylsden goalkeeper Steve Roberts was involved in a confrontation and the afternoon finished in total confusion.
Earlier, LR goals came from Mick Southern and Simon O'Brien.
Earlier in the week LR lost 4-1 to Netherfield, Cryer on target.
Meanwhile, the highly-rated striker, who earlier this season was the subject of much transfer interest, has turned down the offer of a new contract at Crilly Park.
ATHERTON COLLS crashed 1-0 at relegation-threatened Chadderton.
Steve Walton and Ian Lamb's side showed little trace of the recent form that has seen a climb up the NWCL Division One table.
In a disappointing end of season non-event the telling factor was the home side most needed the points.
IN THE latest round of Atherton Charity Cup games Atherton Town A beat Atherton LR Youth 6-1, Church Inn beat St Gabriel's 1-0, Walkers AFC beat Hindsford B 3-1 on penalties after a 2-2 draw and Union B beat Leigh Olympic 7-4.
