JACK Walker's investment in Blackburn Rovers was set to soar to an incredible £25 million. The entrepreneur, who bought control of his home town club in 1991, agreed to take up a new issue of 24,920,000 ordinary shares at £1 each.
Some £15 million of the new capital was earmarked for the rebuilding of Ewood. Shareholders were due to authorise the issue during a specially convened general meeting.
