A CHARITY boss hopes to raise a sky-scraping £3,000 by climbing 29,000 ft - the equivalent of Mount Everest
Murray Winters, district manager of Oxfam, Blackburn, will be scaling the heights around the peaks of the Lake District to help the poor of Nepal who live in the shadow of Everest.
Projects to be supported include education and sanitation.
Murray said: "In order to register the necessary height, easy ridge routes are ignored between peaks.
"I think the frustration may be as tiring as the walking, but the ends should justify the means."
He thanked Eric Wright Construction for its sponsorship and urged any other businesses or local people who want to help to ring him on 01772 888128.
