I AM writing a wartime history of my home village - White Waltham in Berkshire - and am trying to trace a Sgt Trotman who was an instructor at the Royal Artillery School of Aircraft Recognition.
The school was located in the village - opposite the airfield, which was the headquarters of Air Transport Auxiliary, the organisation which ferried more than 300,000 military aircraft during the Second World War.
If Sgt Trotman, or any member of his family, or anyone who knew him, reads this letter, I should be very grateful to hear from them. Similarly, I should also be interested to hear from anyone who attended a course at the school.
