TWO terrified teenagers were attacked with iron bars by men who forced their way into a secluded home.

A 16-year-old girl and her 17-year-old boyfriend were assaulted just after 4pm yesterday at a farmhouse off Lench Road, Waterfoot.

They were taken to Bury General Hospital where the girl had stitches in a head wound. Both were treated for cuts and bruises.

Police are hunting for two Asian men and appealing for witnesses who may have seen them in the area at the time of the attack.

One of the attackers spoke with an English accent and was in his early 20s, 6ft tall and stocky, with stubble and short, dark hair. He was wearing a white and navy blue Reebok jacket.

The other attacker was slimmer but also had short, dark hair.

Lancashire Police are now working with colleagues in Greater Manchester to try to trace the attackers.
