TRICKSTERS posing as council workers are being hunted by police after conning their way into an 81-year-old woman's home.
The men went to their victim's home off Livesey Branch Road in Blackburn at around 10.45am yesterday.
They said they wanted to check the drainage and water supply.
The woman accompanied one of the men around the house before they both left. It is still not clear what was stolen.
Police say one of the men was in his 20s and 5ft 5in, of medium build with short, reddish brown, straight hair. He was wearing a three-quarter length jacket.
Elderly people have been reminded not to let anyone into their homes unless they have proof of identity.
