PROGRAMME makers are targeting Darwen schoolchildren to be stars of the small screen.
Since a successful appearance on the new children's television show 50:50 - screened for the first time this week - a group of pupils from Moorland High School are being invited to take part in another top kids programme.
The production team of BBC's Fully Booked spotted their talents when the 50 Year 7 students won several CD Roms for their school on 50:50 - which will be repeated on Friday, April 25.
Fully Booked's Viewfinders production team are in the Darwen area between August 18 and 20. They have asked pupils between 12 and 15 years old to give their honest opinions about the latest books, videos and computer game releases.
Anne Longrigg, who co-ordinates vocational education at Moorland High School, has been chosen to represent the teachers of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on a discussion panel at the Baptist Union Annual Assembly, in London's Westminster Chapel, next week.
The topic under scrutiny will be morals in education in schools. A parent, a student and a church minister will also be on the panel.
Miss Longrigg said: "I feel very honoured to be given the opportunity to express my opinions and put forward the view of teaching staff from all over Great Britain."
