CHAMPIONS Longridge got off to a good start on the opening Saturday (April 19) of the Moore and Smalley Palace Shield at home to Springfields, they took first knock and scored 159-7.
Stuart Proctor top scored with 32, in reply Springfields were bowled out for 129, with only M Hussain worrying the home side with a fine 67.
Andy Dodd took 4-42 for the champions.
The only other side to get off to a winning start in the premier division were Fylde who had a 43 run victory at Fulwood & Broughton.
